Basisopleiding Babyspa

Would you like to work professionally in the baby wellness industry? Babyspa Academy’s Baby Spa Fundamentals course gives you a theoretical foundation for safely, responsibly and professionally guiding baby spa sessions.

The course combines online self-study with an interactive theory class via Zoom and is suitable for both aspiring baby spa entrepreneurs and professionals looking to expand their knowledge.

What will you learn during the training?

The course consists of several modules covering the following topics:

• Introduction to baby wellness: The baby spa concept, the role of the baby spa practitioner and the importance of parent–child interaction.
• Baby development and cues: Baby development, recognising needs and identifying signs of stress and overstimulation.
• Safety and health: Safe working practices, contraindications, risk prevention and responding to unexpected situations.
• Hygiene and water quality: Cleaning, disinfection, water management and hygienic working practices.
• Materials and equipment: How baby spa baths and related equipment work, how to inspect them and how to use them safely.
• The baby spa session: The theoretical preparation, delivery and wrap-up of a professional baby spa session.
• Communication and parent guidance: Supporting parents, conducting intake interviews and creating a reassuring environment.
• Professional and responsible practice: Work procedures, quality assurance and professional responsibilities.

Study hours

Around 20 hours of self-study + 2 hours of live classes (via Zoom)

Certification

The course concludes with a theory test. After successfully completing all sections, you will receive the Babyspa Academy Basic Baby Spa Training Certificate.

From theory to practice

Have you completed the Baby Spa Foundation Course and want to put your knowledge into practice? Our 2.5-hour practical training day is all about doing, experiencing and practising.

With personal guidance from our trainers, you'll get hands-on practice with the practical skills needed to lead baby spa sessions professionally. No lengthy theory lessons—just plenty of opportunity to practise and become familiar with the materials and equipment.

What will you practise?

• Choosing the right float for the baby.
• Correctly and safely fitting and removing different floats.
• Safely holding babies and helping them in and out of the bath.
• How baby spa baths work and how to operate them.
• Practical considerations and common situations during a baby spa session.

We use practice dolls so you can practise different techniques calmly and repeatedly.

Who is it for?

This practical training day is for (aspiring) baby spa owners and professionals who want to put their theoretical knowledge into practice.

The practical training day is an optional addition to our Baby Spa Fundamentals course. To make the most of the time available for practical exercises, successful completion of the Baby Spa Fundamentals course is required for participation.

Certification

After actively participating in the practical training day, you will receive a certificate of participation from Babyspa Academy.

Dunstan Baby Language Course

This training is for baby professionals who want to use Dunstan Baby Language in their day-to-day work. It develops professionals’ skills in recognising Baby Language sounds and trains them to apply this knowledge when working with babies.

Herbal compress massage training for babies & children, combined with Soft Touch Brush Massage

In this course, you’ll learn to work with heated herbal compresses and a gentle, dry massage technique that can relieve tension and an overstimulated or stressed body. You’ll learn not only how to massage, but especially why it works, drawing on knowledge of the nervous system and the energy body of babies and children.
